Unlike traditional gold-plated jewelry, which may use a base metal such as brass, gold vermeil must use sterling silver and meet specific standards for gold thickness. This creates a durable, precious-metal piece with the look of solid gold at a more accessible price.

Silver is known to naturally oxidize over time. When jewelry is plated with a layer of rhodium, silver polish is generally not needed. Rhodium also protects from scratches and wear, and helps maintain luster and shine.  

To keep your Cier jewelry looking its best, keep it away from water, moisture, lotions, perfumes, and chlorine. Store pieces separately to help prevent scratching and tangling. Clean gold vermeil and rhodium-plated sterling silver gently with a soft cloth and warm water, then dry thoroughly. Natural oxidation and tarnishing may occur over time and can be minimized with proper care and storage.

Hand wash your Cier silk scarf in cold water with a pH-neutral silk-specific detergent. Do not bleach, soak, or wring. Gently press out excess water and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight. Steam on low to remove wrinkles. Store clean and dry, loosely folded and away from direct sunlight to help preserve the silk’s color and finish.
